General Description

Understand the vehicles electrical system, engine, and all of it working parts along with being familiar with the mechanical and technical, using diagnostic computers to diagnosis in order to be able to repair vehicles.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience Requirements & Qualifications

At least one year of Diesel Mechanic experience.
Must have a valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.
CDL-A with ability to get Hazardous Material Certification is preferred.
Must have good verbal and written communication abilities.
Attention to detail because the smallest loose wire or missing bolt can be the root cause of bigger issues. Also, need to have a good eye for detail when dealing with engines and their parts.
Have good hand-eye coordination.
A professional attitude and appearance with a strong work ethic.
A desire to set and attain goals while conducting business honestly and with integrity.
An understanding of basic mathematics.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and reach agreed upon outcomes.
Ability to use creativity to solve problems and meet customer needs within company guidelines.
Ability and desire to learn new systems and processes quickly.

Must be “alert”, able to quickly, and appropriately, respond to various diesel repair questions.
Works in areas that are uncomfortable, hot, cold, dirty, dusty, and noisy for extended periods of time.
Works regularly with equipment where carelessness could result in cuts, bruises, burns, muscle pulls, etc.
